5 Questions for Lionel

When not looking after the castle as Lionel the Steward, planning the Prince's ball, searching the kingdom for glass slippers and such in VOS Theatre's production of CINDERELLA, Oliver K has a packed schedule performing, entertaining, directing and managing youth camps. Luckily we were able to squeeze in a few moments to answer our 5 questions. 

1.Why did you want to play the part of Lionel?

I thought playing Lionel would be a super fun role. Getting to be a little funny on stage and have the opportunity to interact a bit with the audience.

2. What is your favourite role or favourite show/event that you have done in the past? Or would like to do in the future?

Fav show or event. That’s a tough one. I have been directing for over 20 years and I love to direct . Some shows I would mention though that are in my top as a director would be the musical Hair , August Osage County , and Wizard of Oz . 

3.  You obviously love performing, when did you realize that?

I realized I loved to perform at a very young age. I was always putting on funny skits with my sister and cousins as young as 2. 

4. Have you ever been to a ball and/or met "royalty"?

I had never been to a ball but of course I have met royalty because I am King Oliver K!  LOL 

5. What is your "dream" role for a show yet to come? 

I don’t have a dream role per se but I have several shows in my brain ready to put on the stage. In fact...I am directing The Vagina Monologues this weekend.This will be my third time directing although the first as an OTE production ( Oliver Talent Events) in collab with NEW. Super excited to bring this production to Northumberland County.

The show goes on March 8 at 7PM at the Cobourg Legion, which, not coincidentally, is International Women’s Day.
