About the Show
My Fair Lady tells the unforgettable story of Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower seller whose life is transformed when Professor Henry Higgins wagers that he can teach her to speak and behave like a duchess. Filled with wit, romance, and iconic songs, this classic musical remains one of the most celebrated productions in theatre history.
Performance Dates: Nine performances in April 2027 (Exact dates to be announced.)
Rehearsals
Rehearsals are expected to begin in December 2026. Regular rehearsal schedule will be Tuesdays, 6:00–9:00 PM, and Sundays: 1:00–6:00 PM. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled as needed, particularly as opening night approaches.
While not every cast member will be called to every rehearsal, successful applicants are expected to keep rehearsal dates available and attend all rehearsals for which they are scheduled.
Tech Week
Cast members should expect to be available most evenings during the two weeks leading up to opening night. A detailed technical rehearsal schedule will be distributed closer to the production.

What to Prepare
Please prepare approximately 30 bars from the audition selection(s) listed for the character(s) you wish to audition for. We will provide specific scene scripts by email after all auditions are set.
Your audition should demonstrate your vocal ability, acting skills, and suitability for the role.
Following initial auditions, selected performers may be invited to callbacks. Callback material, including scene sides and additional music, will be provided in advance.
Character Breakdown
Eliza Doolittle
A spirited, determined, and emotionally complex young woman. Eliza begins as a sharp-tongued Cockney flower seller and transforms into a poised and articulate lady while discovering her own confidence and independence.
Playing Age: 18–26
Vocal Type: Mezzo-soprano (strong mix/belt encouraged)

Professor Henry Higgins
A brilliant but emotionally oblivious phonetics professor. Higgins is intelligent, opinionated, and fascinated by language, though often unaware of how his behaviour affects others.
Playing Age: 40–60
Vocal Type: Baritone (speech-driven singing)
Audition Song: I'm an Ordinary Man
Colonel Pickering
Kind, courteous, and gentlemanly, Pickering provides warmth and balance to Higgins' eccentric personality while treating Eliza with dignity and respect.
Playing Age: 50–70

Freddy Eynsford-Hill
A sincere and hopeless romantic who falls deeply in love with Eliza. Freddy represents youthful optimism and unwavering devotion.

Alfred P. Doolittle
Eliza's father. A lovable rogue with a quick wit, infectious charm, and a talent for finding opportunity wherever he can. One of the show's great comedic roles.

Mrs. Pearce
Professor Higgins' practical and organized housekeeper. She often serves as the voice of reason while keeping Higgins' household functioning.

Mrs. Higgins
Henry Higgins' intelligent and elegant mother. Warm, perceptive, and socially astute, she often provides wisdom and perspective lacking in her son's worldview.

Ensemble – Gentlemen, Society Members & Featured Roles
We are seeking energetic performers of all ages to portray aristocrats, servants, townspeople, racegoers, and featured ensemble roles throughout the production.

Ensemble – Women, Flower Girls & Socialites
The female ensemble helps bring London's streets and high society to life through singing, dancing, and character work.

Additional Information
Callbacks
Callbacks will be held following the initial auditions for selected performers. Callback invitations will be sent via email and will include any required materials in advance.
Callbacks may include:
● Scene work and dialogue from the show
● Character interaction and chemistry exercises
● Additional vocal selections
● Movement or dance (where applicable)
Please note that receiving a callback does not guarantee casting, and performers may still be cast without being asked to attend callbacks.
Accent Work
My Fair Lady features two primary British dialects: Cockney and Received Pronunciation (RP). Prior experience with these accents is not required for auditions. However, an ability and willingness to learn and perform the appropriate accent for your role will be considered during the casting process. Resources and coaching will be provided throughout rehearsals.
Acting & Storytelling
While vocal ability is an important part of the audition process, My Fair Lady is a character-driven musical that relies heavily on strong acting and compelling storytelling. Auditionees are encouraged to make bold, believable character choices and to communicate the emotion, humour, and intention behind the music. We are looking for performers who can bring these iconic characters to life through expressive acting, strong stage presence, and genuine connection with both the material and fellow performers.
