5 Questions for Prince Christopher

THE CHARMING JOSH LAMBERT PLAYS THE PRINCE

To many, he is Prince Charming. In the Rodgers and Hammerstein Enchanted Edition of Cinderella he is Prince Christopher, Rupert, Windermere, Vladimir, Carl, Alexander, François, Reginald, Lancelot, Herman, Gregory, James. Although coming from a wealth of stage experience, this is Josh Lambert's first royal journey with VOS Theatre. To get to know him a bit better we asked him 5 Questions.
1. Why did you want to play “Prince Christopher”?
Having grown up watching OG Disney movies, it’s a wonderful opportunity to play a prince in the fantasy genre—especially one who is so humble and genuine. The character of Prince Christopher is so noble that it’s a pleasure to embody his attributes.
2. What is your favourite role or favourite show/event that you have played in the past?
I’d say playing Charlie in Mary’s Wedding was my favourite. Not to take away from any of the other performances, actors, or directors I’ve worked with—there’s just something incredible about a no‑backstage two‑hander. You’re “on” for the entire show, and that adds to the realism.
3. What is your "dream" role for a show yet to come?
On the cult side, I would love to play Dr. Horrible—or even Captain Hammer—in a theatrical adaptation of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. That role lives in my head rent-free. But for a more mainstream dream, I’d have to say Max Bialystock in The Producers. He’s scheming, larger than life, completely shameless, and somehow still lovable. It demands comic stamina, charisma, and total commitment—and it looks like an absolute blast to sink your teeth into.
4. How do you compare to the Prince? What characteristics do you share and/or not share?
Christopher is humble but confident—knows his strengths and limitations. My grandmother and mother raised me to be old‑school and courteous, so that lands. What he wants in a partner is what I want: someone you can actually talk to, who hears you. Communication over idealism. We’re not identical. He’s a bit more juvenile—but his mother/son clashes? Hilariously accurate. He’s also got a quirky, nerdy sense of humour I relate to. And the ball? Awkward but secretly enjoying the attention? Very relatable.
5. You obviously love performing, when did you realize that?
I was about five. My brother said, "What do you want to say to your fans?" and I jumped up on the table in my undies and shouted, "Heeeelloooooo!" I think that was the moment.
